It is a space for you to meet and explore the sensation and causes of anxiety within you. The treatment can offer you a sensation of relief, feeling grounded and calm, by loosening up tension in the body, opening the breath, and regulating the nervous system.

 

Foot on the Ground

Anxiety is a natural alarm system, alerting us to potential danger. A little anxiety at the right time can be helpful, pushing us to take action and stay safe. Our breath hightens, and all our attention is taken away by the surrounding danger. It is essential that we keep some of our attention to ourselves at all times, noticing what this alarm is doing to us and why it has activated in the first place.

 

 

 

 

Imagined Danger

 

Anxiety can also stem from past experiences, particularly those from childhood, where we felt unsafe or threatened. Sometimes, these past traumas or ingrained beliefs create an automatic defense mechanism that continues to warn us of danger, even when the threat is no longer present. It's like a faulty alarm, constantly going off even when there's no fire. This can lead us to feel anxious even in safe situations, develop low self-esteem, and a negative thought spiral about ourselves and our lives.

When we're constantly focused on pleasing others and neglecting our own needs, we can become even more vulnerable to this kind of anxiety, as we lose touch with our own sense of safety and well-being.
